Who is eligible to open an account?
ACB serves individuals, solidarity groups, small businesses, churches, schools, cooperatives, and NGOs. Most products require you to be 18 years or older, or have a parent / guardian co-sign for minors.
Do I need to open an ISANGE account first?
Yes. ISANGE is ACB's core current account and is the gateway to all other products (MPEJO savings, HUNIKA term deposits, and most loan products). Opening an ISANGE account is quick — around 10 minutes at any branch.
Can I open an account online?
You can begin the process online or by phone and our team will guide you. However, you will need to visit a branch in person at least once to verify your identity documents and complete the account opening formalities.

FAQ

Savings Products

What savings accounts does ACB offer?
ACB offers three main savings products: ISANGE (current/demand deposit), MPEJO (regular interest-bearing savings), and HUNIKA (term deposit for lump-sum placements).
What is the ISANGE account?
ISANGE is ACB's demand deposit (current) account suitable for personal and professional use. It is extremely flexible — you can deposit and withdraw at any time — and it is the foundation account required for other ACB products.
What is the MPEJO savings account?
MPEJO is an interest-bearing savings account designed for clients who want to save regularly. It requires an existing ISANGE account, a minimum savings period of at least 6 months, and regular contributions (daily, weekly, or monthly depending on your plan).
What is the HUNIKA term deposit?
HUNIKA is a certificate-based term deposit account for clients who want to place a lump sum for a fixed period and earn interest. An active ISANGE account is required. Minimum amounts and current interest rates are available at any branch.
Is there a minimum balance on the ISANGE account?
The ISANGE current account has no mandatory minimum balance requirement. Always confirm the latest schedule with your branch as conditions may be updated in the published tariff.
How long must I save in MPEJO before withdrawal?
MPEJO is designed for at least a 6-month savings horizon. Early withdrawal conditions and any applicable penalties are set out in the account agreement — please discuss this with a branch officer at opening.

KAZE is a solidarity group credit product for low-income clients who may not have traditional collateral. Groups of 3–10 members can access RWF 10,000 – 500,000 with terms of 1–12 months. Group members guarantee each other.
Can I get a loan without collateral?

What is the HEMBWA employee loan?
HEMBWA is designed for salaried employees whose salaries are paid through ACB. Loan amounts can reach up to 1–10 times your net monthly salary, with terms from 1 to 36 months.

What does CURUZA loan cover?
CURUZA is designed for traders and small business owners seeking working capital or growth financing. Eligibility, amounts, and interest rates are discussed in detail at branch level based on your business activity.
How long does loan approval take?
